Changing things up, blogwise.

Hey! I’m messing with my theme today, so everything’s going to be all jacked up for a bit. 🙂

I’ve apparently lost my old header, which is sad sad sad…but Kate is 16 now so I should probably do a better job of keeping up with the times. We’ll see what I can come up with.

Anyhoo, hang in there with me while I play with this thing, and if you have any suggestions, feel free to jump right in with them.

  1. I new I would be going, but it was more than a year away. It seemed like forever. I bought a countdown clock from Amazon. When I got it and set it up, I had 477 days. I have 76 days left. The time has flown by.
I also bought my backpack first.
I was watching a movie from Australia called TRACKS. The main character is a woman who walked across the outback for about 6 months alone in the 70’s. There is a line at the beginning that has been profoundly true for me. This is close, if not exactly what she says, “The decision to act was the start of the journey.” I have found that to so true. My Camino started the day I realized i was going.
If you are interested, I have read 11 memoirs. Some good, some not so much, a couple that are really fun to read. I’ll send you the list. Some people don’t want to read about it before hand. I have learned so much from these books. some things to do, some things not to do. And I have made a friend of one of the authors.
    Buen camino!

  2. I can’t seem to get enough information about the Camino, so I’d love to see what memoirs you’ve enjoyed the most! Thanks so much for commenting!
